533.6.011.6 Numerical simulation of supersonic flow around a parachute with a head body

The article presents the results of numerical modeling of the non-stationary flow that occurs near the parachute canopy located in the near wake of the head body. Modeling revealed two qualitatively different flow regimes, depending on the distance between the body and the canopy. The results of modeling the flow around the parachute dome with various degrees of its structural permeability are also presented. For the considered flows, the aerodynamic characteristics of the parachute canopy are compared with experimental data. Pictures of non-stationary fields of gas-dynamic parameters are given. Modeling is based on a conservative numerical method of second-order approximation and is implemented on computing systems of a parallel architecture.
